About the AASLD Foundation

About the Foundation

AASLD Foundation is a charitable organization that invests in innovative hepatology research and in the people who study and treat liver disease.

As the largest private supporter of hepatology research and career development in the United States, the Foundation fills the void between bright, talented researchers and clinicians and the financial resources needed to:

  • Encourage researchers' groundbreaking discoveries and treatments.
  • Keep pace with the need for more physicians and healthcare professionals trained to provide care for patients with liver disease.
  • Share cutting-edge hepatology knowledge with physicians worldwide.

Research and Career Development Awards

AASLD Foundation is pleased to announce our investment in hepatology’s future continues to grow. This year, we have committed over $2.2 million in funding towards our Research and Career Development Awards, Abstract Awards, and our Emerging Liver Scholars Program.

We are now accepting applications for our 2021 Research and Career Development Awards. Find out more, share the word, and apply today.

This year’s award recipients — selected from a highly competitive applicant pool — demonstrate both exceptional aptitude and a deep interest in liver disease research and treatment.

In Gratitude to Our Donors

AASLD Foundation was established in 2014 with the help of incredible financial commitment and dedication of industry and private foundations, and many generous individuals who supported the creation of this charitable organization. Since then, hundreds of donors have helped make more advances in liver disease possible through their generous donations.

Thank you!

We are honored to bestow recognition on our annual fund donors who support our work each year. Know that when you allow us to recognize your generosity, you can also inspire others to similar acts. This year, we look forward to highlighting our donors in special ways throughout The Liver Meeting Digital Experience™.

  • Founding Donors. We express our gratitude to the following companies who came together in 2015 to contribute gifts and pledges of more than $2 million to fund the creation of AASLD Foundation. Their support continues to sustain our programming, nearly five years later. We applaud them for their vision and are grateful for their generosity.
  • Tomorrow’s Cures Campaign Donors. AASLD Foundation is grateful to our donors who contributed to our mission through their generous charitable donations.
  • Corporate and Foundation Donors sustain progress in hepatology through their untiring commitment to investing in research and training. We applaud these efforts and gratefully acknowledge the following companies and foundations that have made donations and grants to support the Foundation’s initiatives and its Tomorrow’s Cures campaign.

The TLMdX Networking and Engagement Center will offer an opportunity for attendees to engage with colleagues, leaders, and staff of many areas of programming. The Foundation Hub will be open throughout the meeting for you to stop by and visit. Our Board and Committee leaders will host a daily Coffee Chat and look forward to seeing you at some point. Staff will also be on hand throughout the day to facilitate connections to others during TLMdX.

We’re looking forward to our awardees joining our special “meet-up” sessions. While those will be by invite, we’re able to have a maximum of 50 attendees join at a time. Feel free to stop in if you are a prior year’s awardee and let us know what you have been up to – we’ll see you at the Hub!

You will have choices to participate on your own, based on your personal needs at that time and your schedule for the day.

This complimentary resource is made possible through AASLD Foundation. If you enjoy this experience during the meeting, consider a donation to support the future of hepatology research and patient care – click the “Donate Now” link on any page of this site or make a gift through our donation page.
